In my first article, I shared how a factory’s success is shaped by decisions made during the project stage.
One of the most important of those decisions was to build a traceability ecosystem capable of managing every stage of production with reliable data.
Imagine that you are managing a manufacturing facility.
“Can you retrieve the complete history of this product shipped last month?”
The answer to this question concerns far more than the quality department.
Operations. Production. Logistics. Planning. And the decisions made by management are all directly affected.
When building a manufacturing facility, traceability should be one of the first structures designed.
Our primary objective was to preserve the information associated with each individual product throughout every stage of the operation. The resulting data chain carried the product’s digital identity from livestock operations through shipment with the same level of integrity.
For this reason, the data journey does not begin on the production line.
The first record is created in livestock operations. From the moment an animal enters the operation, the data generated becomes an integral part of the production process.
The same data integrity continues throughout manufacturing.
From slaughtering and quartering to cutting, burger production, delicatessen processes, rendering, storage and shipment, every stage enriches the product’s digital identity with new data and completes the traceability chain without interruption.
This makes it possible to access the required information about any product reliably from any point in the operation. The process from manufacturing to the customer is managed within the same data integrity.
The true value of technology investment lies in making operations visible, producing reliable data and supporting decision-making.
