Food processing facilities manufacturing technology and OT/IT architecture

Technology Setup from the Ground Up, Security Architecture and Operational Continuity

I built the project's technology environment from the ground up, starting with operational requirements, and managed it end to end. I addressed software and hardware infrastructure, server systems, data centers and data center operations alongside enterprise systems, technology investments and license management.

I designed the network and firewall architecture and security infrastructure in conjunction with information security, data security and cybersecurity requirements, and led implementation processes. I positioned security as a core component of the technology infrastructure and daily operations.

For operational continuity, I planned backup, disaster recovery (DR) scenarios and the restoration of critical systems following an interruption. I evaluated infrastructure decisions against continuity, manageability and long-term scalability objectives.

Project Scope

I designed and managed technology architectures across large-scale potato, onion and cheese processing environments, connecting enterprise IT with manufacturing and operational technologies.

I brought together data center infrastructure, server and storage architecture, enterprise networks, cybersecurity, ERP, SCADA, production systems, cold storage, raw material storage and critical utility environments within an integrated operational architecture.

Approach

I designed IT and OT environments to work together where operational data exchange was required, while maintaining the necessary separation, security and availability for critical manufacturing systems.

Capacity, data flow, cybersecurity, availability, resilience and future growth were evaluated together as part of the architecture.

ERP, Manufacturing & Business Continuity

I integrated ERP and manufacturing environments supporting production, inventory, planning, purchasing and shipment processes, while connecting operational data from SCADA and industrial systems where required.

Replication, Disaster Recovery (DR), backup and recovery, data integrity and service continuity were treated as core components of the architecture. Agricultural field data covering approximately 40,000 decares was also connected with raw material planning and manufacturing requirements.

24/7Infrastructure, recovery and continuity approach supporting manufacturing operations

My Role & Responsibility

I defined the manufacturing and enterprise technology requirements; designed the IT and OT architecture, planned data center, server, storage, network, cybersecurity and ERP environments, and managed the continuity of critical manufacturing systems.

In manufacturing, the real measure of technology continuity is the ability of operations to keep running.
